The Hamilton Club elected a new slate of members to its board of directors at the club's annual general meeting last week.

Retired vice-president of National Paper Goods, Lindsay Holton, assumes the role of chairman, taking over from me, Tricia Hellingman.Sandra Stephenson, a corporate lawyer with Lazier Hickey LLP, becomes vice-chairman, while Tim Galvin, a partner in the accounting firm Hoecht Galvin, remains as treasurer.

New members joining the board are Brent Foreman, a labour relations lawyer with Evans Philp LLP; Michael Haworth, president of the IT firm Binatech Systems Solutions; and Sarah Murphy, an investment adviser at CIBC Wood Gundy.

Leaving the board are past chairman David Macdonald, CEO of Air Whistle Media; David Lane, executive director of the John Howard Society of Hamilton Burlington and Area; and Russ McEdwards, partner at McEdwards & Whitwell Financial Planning.

Dennis Concordia was promoted from director to vice-president of human resources at Carstar Automotive Canada in Hamilton. He joined the company in 2007.

Carstar has 135 locations in all 10 provinces across Canada, and is planning further expansion in 2009. The company has 11,000 employees.
