Hamilton-based Pioneer Petroleums has officially opened its new gas bar at the corner of Upper Gage and Crocket.  The Pioneer service station that has operated at the site since 1962 was levelled in April, a new parcel of land added and a new service station opened with more gas bays, a larger convenience store and a state-of-the-art car wash.  Pioneer’s director of Development and Construction Bob Reid says he’s been impressed with the friendly interest of neighbours in the area during the construction process.  “Over the past several days, we’ve had more positive comments than we believed would come forward for such a project,” he says.

Pioneer Petroleums is one of the province’s largest independent gasoline retailers. It has more than 140 locations across Ontario, including 17 in Hamilton, according to the company’s website
