A Dundas company that creates children’s playgrounds has been garnering provincial acclaim for its work. Bienenstock Natural Playgrounds recently won the Trillium Award from Landscape Ontario and the Ontario Parks Association Award for outstanding design of parks.
Bienenstock Natural Playgrounds creates playgrounds with a focus on natural materials, preferring to use natural or recycled materials instead of the plastic, steel and asphalt of traditional playgrounds.
“Our work has been guided by research that shows the high injury rates and low activity rates of children using traditional playgrounds can be remedied with natural playgrounds,” notes the company’s vice-president of Development, Bruce Sudds.
In addition to recently winning a contract from the City of Hamilton to develop a playground in Dundas, Bienenstock’s clients include the City of Toronto and the Town of Jasper.
