Tricia Hellingman Wins CPRS Award of Excellence

Tricia Hellingman APR won the Bill Cockman Memorial Award of Excellence from the Canadian Public Relations Society, Hamilton chapter, for her leadership and accomplishments in the field of public relations.

Nominated by CPRS Hamilton president Liliana Busnello, Tricia accepted the award at a gala dinner on April 21, 2010.

“Tricia Hellingman is a professional who inspires loyalty, respect and admiration from her colleagues and peers in the community,” Ms. Busnello said in presenting the award to Tricia Hellingman. “She is a true leader, mentor and advocate for the public relations profession, and exemplifies the quality, dedication and care for the profession to which all public relations practitioners should aspire.”

The award is named for Bill Cockman, APR, who died in October 1997, in honour of his role in founding Hamilton’s first public relations association in the 1960s. The Award of Excellence is given for distinguished and dedicated service to the Canadian Public Relations Society and/or to the advancement/betterment of the practice of public relations at large.

Tricia has been a member of CPRS Hamilton for more than 20 years and is past president of the chapter.
