The Hamilton branch of the Simpson Wigle law firm held a reception for clients and associates to celebrate its move into new offices at 1 Hunter St. E., across from the GO station. The firm occupies two floors of the former public health department building, which has been undergoing modernization for more than a year. Simpson Wigle's Hamilton office was previously located at 21 King St. W. Managing partner Tim Bullock notes the new offices provide more space and a modern environment for the approximately 55 staff who work there. Simpson Wigle also has an office in Burlington. The firm's history in Hamilton dates back to 1884.

Stoney Creek-based printing company Pinnacle Litho Inc. has purchased Cascades International, a printing company in Niagara Falls. Pinnacle president Chris Fillingham is a longtime Niagara Falls resident and notes that there's "a ton of potential business in the Niagara region." Pinnacle offers four-colour offset and digital printing, while Cascades provides two-colour offset printing. The two companies employ a total of 14 people.

Burlington's The CUMIS Group Limited has donated $7,000 to Burlington Food Share to help those in need this holiday season. Company president and CEO Kenn Lalonde made the presentation to Burlington Mayor Cam Jackson on Wednesday.

Rebecca West has been promoted within Canwest Media Incorporated to the position of director of news marketing and community partnerships for Global News Ontario. She is now at the company's Toronto headquarters. West was previously promotions manager for CHCH News and E! Ontario. She also worked as director of communications and sales at Hamilton Airport and as a communications officer for the City of Hamilton.
